Windows 8.1
When trying to create an .ISO file I run into the following from the log:

I have not been able to find any details on what an error 0x180006 is or how to fix this.
My motherboard is an ASUS P8H77-M PRO running the latest BIOS
I have disabled Secure Boot
My C:Usersuser1AppDataLocalTempMntTMP was (and still is after creation failure) empty
I can create Linux media to a USB flash drive but this does me little good since it is not a Linux system (unless you can use it to restore a WIndows 8.1 system).
Any advice gratefully accepted.

John, what version of Windows ADK do you have installed for creating the WinPE media?
Please download the MVP Log Viewer Tool (link below) and use this to find the TI_media_builder log that is created by the Acronis Media Builder tool, as this should provide more details of what the error is here. Note: change the Log Type to see the media builder log. Beginner Comments: 2

The ADK version was the latest from Microsoft for Windows 8.1 (and was a bit hard to find). The rescue media builder fails whether it is installed or not. I note that on another Windows 8.1 machine, I can happily create .ISO rescue media with no ADK installed.
Not sure where to go from here, but I appreciate your interest/help.
Any idea what the error 0x180006 is?

Oz, Acronis do not publish the meaning of any of the error codes unfortunately!
When we have seen issues involving the .wim file previously, this has been caused because the .wim didn't get upgraded when the application was, and the solution was to delete the contents of:
C:Program Files (x86)AcronisTrueImageHomeWinPE
then do a Repair Install to get the correct .wim file (or hosting .dll file in later versions) put back.
To do a Repair Install, simply install the latest Full Installer program (as Administrator) from your Acronis Account without uninstalling the current ATI application - this will offer you the choice of Repair or Uninstall.
